Workshops/Activities for Members

The Lane Cove Art Society organises workshops and visits to galleries or artists’ studios 3 to 4 times a year.

The workshops are held from 10am to 4pm at the Living & Leisure Centre, 180 Longueville Rd Lane Cove (3 doors down from the Gallery Lane Cove & Creative Centre).
Bring your own equipment and lunch; morning tea is provided by the Lane Cove Art Society.
For insurance purposes, you need to be a member to attend workshops.

Parking: limited parking in Longueville Rd.  Plenty of spaces at Parking Station behind Lane Cove Library  (opposite Gallery Lane Cove) - access via Austin Street. First 3 hours are free.

Workshop with Mark Dober - 22 September  10am - 4pm. Mixed Media
Maximum 10 people. Cost $100

Mark will be offering a mixed media workshop using oil pastels with watercolour and gouache,
based on the work of renowned Australian landscape artist Fred Williams. Mark is a professional
artist in several mediums, experienced teacher (including plein air work) and writer on art, based
in Castlemaine, Vic. He holds a PhD in Fine Art from Monash University. We are very lucky to have
the opportunity to learn from him during his Gaffa Gallery exhibition.

Workshop with Patrick Carroll  - 6th October 2018 10am - 4pm
Maximum 10 people. Cost $100 per person for the day

Patrick Carroll, award winning artist, and an excellent, generous teacher, is well known to us
and was our guest artist for February. Patrick is an exuberant, intuitive artist who has been
painting and exhibiting for over 30 years. His work is forceful, supported by fine draughtsmanship
and traditional painting techniques. His bold and vibrant painting style is infused with personality
and he is best described as a dynamic acrylic painter. This acrylic workshop was anticipated
earlier in the year, and we are delighted to offer it now


New LCAS Plein Air Group – Come and join us!
Come and paint or draw together in a monthly get together,  10am -12.30 to 1pm.
Bring your lunch or refreshments and whatever painting or drawing media you like. Open to members and friends of LCAS.
Plein Air for July to November will be the 4 th Thursday of each month, at the Coal Loader Waverton as there are various aspects worthy of painting. , Meeting at 10 - 12.30 to 1pm outside  the cafe.  Cafe is open 7am -3pm Wed -Sun.
